SFS Academy, Bangalore is a co-educational institution affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. It was established in 2014 under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Soby Thomas, MSFS. The foundation stone was blessed by Rev. Dr. Jose Kumblolickal, MSFS, on May 25, 2011, and the school was officially inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Abraham Vettuvelil, MSFS.
The academy presented its first batch of Class X students for the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) in March 2019. From its humble beginnings, it has grown steadily to a student strength of 2321 with a highly committed faculty of 110 teachers.
The school combines academic excellence with holistic development. It emphasizes not just scholastic success but also nurtures co-curricular and extra-curricular competencies. Guided by a mission to empower students to meet life’s challenges with confidence, SFS Academy offers a learner-centric environment, enriched with values, innovation, and creativity.
In 2017, the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales of South-West India Province launched a new initiative called SFS School Anthoni Nagara. On May 15, 2017, his Lordship Rev. Dr. T. Anthony Swamy, Bishop of Chikkamagalur diocese, blessed the school, which was later launched by Rev. Fr. Benny Kottanal MSFS, the then Provincial Superior of South-West India province. The main goal of creating this school was to provide value-based English education to rural children because it is located in a rural location. The school is located in Karnataka's Hassan District, Holenarasipura Taluk. It is surrounded by natural beauty, including hills, coconut palms, and paddy fields. The peaceful and quiet atmosphere provides further support to the children's concentration.
Rev. Fr. Maria George MSFS, the school's first principal, patiently weathered the initial trials and struggles in establishing infrastructure, securing authorization, and registering the school. He was Principal for one year, from 2017 to 2018. During this year, Rev. Fr. Erudayaraja MSFS and Rev. Fr. J. Periyanayagam MSFS held the positions of Manager and Finance Administrator.
Rev. Fr. J. Balavendra MSFS was appointed as the school's second principal in 2018. He has devoted his full devotion and dedication to his position as principal for five years, from 2018 to 2023. During his tenure, the school's expansion in terms of quality, quantity, and infrastructure accelerated. In addition to being Principal, he was also the Finance Administrator and Mission Moderator. Rev. Fr. Thomas Cherukat MSFS, who served as manager for two years from 2018 to 2021, provided him with valuable support and guidance.
The school is currently advancing forward towards its goal under the capable guidance of Rev. Fr. A. Jerome as Manager beginning in 2021, Rev. Fr. R. Bartholomew MSFS as Principal beginning May 8, 2023, and Rev. Fr. Anand Ekka MSFS as Finance Administrator.
The institution is steadily improving in terms of quality, facilities, and student enrollment. In just 9 years, the number of pupils has increased to 352, ranging from LKG to 8th grade. The school boasts an eager and devoted team of 16 teachers, as well as nine non-teaching and support workers. Their collaboration allows the school to run efficiently and gain new perspectives.
The school is developing a dynamic atmosphere to bring out the best in each student in a comprehensive way. SFS School Anthoni Nagara envisions itself as the foundation for developing smart leaders anchored in their ethnicity and culture in order to create a brighter future for everybody.
The school emphasizes not just academics, but also extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Students are trained from a young age to include a feeling of duty, loyalty, team spirit, and healthy competitiveness in order to develop grace-filled and dignified characters.
