In the 1960s, a group of Christian missionaries from the MSFS Fathers identified and arrived at a remote, underdeveloped village called Hebbagodi, located on the outskirts of Bangalore. Their mission was to uplift the local community. With this vision, they acquired around 40 acres of land to build essential facilities such as a school, orphanage, church, and hospital. This area gradually came to be known as Mermier Nagar.
Over the years, the community progressed in many aspects, yet one major challenge persisted—the lack of a quality Kannada medium school nearby. To address this, Rev. Father Joseph Mulakkara established SFS High School KM in 1982, offering the state board curriculum. Initially, the school received permission to operate classes from Grades 1 to 7.
What began modestly in 1982, both in terms of student strength and infrastructure, has now transformed into a landmark institution in Anekal Taluk. SFS High School KM was grant in aid from the Karnataka Govt in the Year 1992. 5 teachers were given grant from the Govt of Karnataka. Later in 1998 again 2 teachers got appointed b\y the Govt. In 1994, the school was granted approval to expand up to Grade 10. Another significant milestone came in 1994, when SFS High School KM presented its first batch of SSLC students, comprising 20 pupils.
Since then, the school has grown by leaps and bounds, earning a strong reputation in Hebbagodi and beyond. Despite the rise of several institutions offering various educational boards, SFS High School KM has withstood the test of time. It continues to evolve to meet the demands of 21st-century education, always prioritizing the welfare and success of its students.
Today, SFS High School stands proudly as one of the best Kannada medium state board schools in Anekal Taluk, with more than 350 students from Pre-KG to Class 10. The campus features a well-stocked library, spacious classrooms, fully equipped computer lab , a large playground, school transport facilities, an in-house nurse, and a counsellor — creating the ideal environment for student learning.
The school encourages learning beyond the classroom. Students are given opportunities to excel in sports and co-curricular activities, allowing them to discover and develop their unique talents and interests. With a commitment to holistic education, the school instills moral values along with intellectual, spiritual, and nationalistic ideals. SFS nurtures confidence and resilience in its students, preparing them to face life’s challenges and achieve their goals.
